I’ve always said in my movie reviews that, when a movie is based on a true story, they are so much better.
The movie follows Carlton Leach, one of the most feared generals of the football terraces to becoming a member of a notorious gang of criminals who rampaged their way through London and Essex in the late eighties and early nineties. It is three decades of his life following him from football hooliganism, through to his burgeoning career as a bouncer, his involvement in the criminal aspects of the early ‘rave’ scene and subsequently to his rise to power as one of the most feared and respected criminals in the country.
I really liked the directors style for the movie, never seen something like it before. Keeps it very gripping.
The movie is rated R for strong, strong violence, nudity, drug use, etc. Don’t watch it with your kids!
I enjoyed this movie as much as American Gangster, both are very well done. If you like crime movies, or true stories, check this one out for sure.
