I never really heard anything about this movie until I was browsing Apple Trailers. I thought I would pick it up, and give it a watch this evening. I found the movie to be slow for the first quarter, but it picked up after an unsuspecting plot twist.
The over all mood of the movie made me feel rather dull, and Jessica Alba is the last person I want to see act lol. However, at the end I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the ending, in a good way.
Hayden Christensen is in the top 5 of my favorite actors. He played a depressive teen in one of my favorite films “Life as a House”. Terrance Howard is a good actor (best known for his role in the movie Crash). However, I didn’t enjoy this roll for him at all. Seemed a little under acted? In some scenes. But in others, delivered a good performance.
Billionaire Clay Beresford is a wallstreet guru at 22, following his fathers foot steps. When he is stricken with an illness, he must undergo heart surgery. It’s a tale of love, deception, and truth. A little cliché, yes. During his awakened state, he discovers the truth, and with another great plot twist, the drama unfolds.
“20,000,000 people go under Anesthesia every year. 30,000 of those people lay in a paralyzed state… unable to scream. They are Awake.”
